As the dust settles on the biggest InnoTrans in its 28-year history, we reflect on an incredible experience. With nearly 3,000 exhibitors from over 50 countries and 170,000 visitors across 30 halls, this was a landmark event for everyone involved in the rail industry. The InnoTrans balance sheet again breaks all previous records and shows why this is the world's leading trade fair for transport technology.
Our booth was buzzing with energy from the first minute to the last. We had the pleasure of reconnecting with long-standing relations and meeting new potential partners, all while sharing our cutting-edge solutions for railway safety. A key focus of these discussions was the pressing need to address the backlog of maintenance tasks, project delays, and most importantly, ensuring safety at passive level crossings.
ADDRESSING THE REAL CHALLENGE:
A Scalable, Cost-Effective Solution
At Wavetrain Systems, we are focused on solving a critical issue in railway operations: unprotected level crossings. While traditional SIL 4 systems connected to signaling may provide high-level safety, they are often too expensive and slow to implement at scale. Our acoustic train detection level crossing solution offers an alternative that is both scalable and cost-effective. Ideal for railway networks that need to reduce risks quickly and affordably.
Our system has been proven in use in commercial traffic applications to reduce risk overnight, delivering significant safety improvements at passive level crossings across large rail networks. It doesn’t require integration into existing signaling systems, meaning it can be deployed rapidly with minimal disruption to operations. This makes it the perfect fit for authorities looking to lower costs, improve safety, and meet regulatory standards on a large scale.
MEETING INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS
A crucial factor for railway authorities is compliance with strict regulatory frameworks. We are proud to say that our acoustic level crossing solution meets international safety standards, including CENELEC Sil 2 certification. This ensures that your investment in our technology not only improves safety but also aligns with industry regulations, reducing the risk of compliance issues down the line.
EASY INTEGRATION AND FAST IMPLEMENTATION
One of the biggest challenges in upgrading railway safety infrastructure is managing disruptions. Our solution is designed for easy integration with minimal downtime, allowing for quick deployment across multiple sites. Whether you are looking at high-traffic double-track crossings or more remote single-track locations, our system can be scaled to fit your specific needs.
INSTANT BENEFITS
Fast installation at the level crossing, no downtime and at a pricepoint that results in more Level Crossings being upgraded. The Wavetrain system gives the buyer a very flexible setup with warning times that easily can be adjusted upon changes in use of level crossing or changes in passing traffic. This kind of measurable impact is what sets us apart. Authorities can see instant and clear data-backed results, making it easier to justify investment in new safety technologies.
READY FOR THE FUTURE: Let’s Talk
The energy and enthusiasm at InnoTrans left us feeling inspired about the future of railway safety. We’re excited to continue the conversations we started, and we’re already reaching out to discuss how we can collaborate on impactful projects that reduce risks and improve safety across the globe. We believe that together, we can make a real difference in protecting both workers and passengers at level crossings.
If you’re ready to explore how our solutions can help your network, we would love to talk. Reach out today to learn more about pilots, demos, or even a tailored deployment strategy that fits your budget and safety goals.
Thanks to everyone who made InnoTrans 2024 such a special event for us. We look forward to seeing you again soon— perhaps as early as AusRAIL in November!
